Community Group
Connection, stillness, and everyday integration.
A welcoming space to explore personal growth, parts work, and energetic healing practices. Bring your curiosity, your questions, and your own way of making meaning.
Your pace.
Your experience.
The group welcomes diverse beliefs, questioning perspectives, and secular approaches, including queer and neurodivergent experiences. You do not need prior meditation experience or a particular belief about energy.
Brief optional activities, conversation, and reflection make room for self-connection. You can pass, move, keep your eyes open, use an external focus, or take a break.
The group draws on Somatic IFS themes: somatic awareness, conscious breathing, radical resonance, mindful movement, and attuned touch, alongside embodied Self. Touch is discussed through consent and boundaries; there is no touch between facilitators and participants or between participants.

Optional readings and websites

Learn about the seven-chakra framework and its cultural context. Reflect on themes such as support, voice, and connection, including the principles surrounding clearing energetic blockages as an energy-based framework.
Optional readings and websites
- Himalayan Institute — Chakras Back to Basics ↗
Tradition-based teaching series. The description introduces the series; full videos may require membership or payment. Use as an optional account from a yogic tradition, not a medical explanation or required purchase.
- NCCIH — Reiki ↗
Free research summary about a distinct energetic healing practice. It is not a chakra teaching; use it to discuss the difference between personal meaning, practice traditions, and evidence for health claims. It does not establish the existence of an energy field or a mechanism for clearing blockages.
- Susan McConnell — Mindful Movement ↗
Free practitioner reading to accompany the lesson’s optional movement reflection; Somatic IFS and chakra frameworks remain distinct.
Session 4Inner parts and compassionate self-connection
Explore parts work and a compassionate relationship with your inner experience. Practise listening with curiosity and respect.
Optional readings and websites
- IFS Institute — The Internal Family Systems Model Outline ↗
Free introduction to parts and Self from the organisation that teaches the model. Clinical procedures described on the page are background, not instructions for solo trauma processing.

Free practitioner explanation to support discussion of presence and relatedness. The group’s listening activity is a separate community adaptation.

Learn how to hold energetic boundaries through choices about space, time, attention, and consent. Explore discernment in energetic healing settings.

Bring your learning into everyday life. Create a personal integration plan and identify the practices and supports you want to carry forward.

- Introduction to IFS with Richard Schwartz — Video ↗
Watch or revisit this introductory video to reflect on parts work and self-connection.
- Susan McConnell — Publications ↗
Optional further-reading website. Books and workbooks may require purchase or library borrowing; none is required for participation.
These resources offer different perspectives. Practitioner and tradition-based writings describe their frameworks; research summaries help distinguish those teachings from established health evidence. Activities are adapted for a community group rather than clinical training.
Participation that
respects you.
Sharing personal histories is optional. We ask participants to respect privacy, speak from their own experience, and avoid interpreting or diagnosing another person’s energy.
This is a reflective, educational community group. It is separate from individual psychotherapy, crisis care, and practitioner certification. Energetic healing practices complement rather than replace appropriate healthcare.
Questions are welcome.
Do I need to believe in energy work?
No. Curiosity, uncertainty, and secular perspectives are welcome. You can use language that fits your own experience.
Will I need to share or participate in every practice?
No. You can pass, reflect privately, choose an alternative, or stop an activity. There is no required sensation or outcome.
